Let's Play Dungeons and Dragons - Wednesday Night Home Game #1

My Monk just tanked a Draco-lich

It’s been a while since I’ve played in a pick-up game of Dungeons and Dragons. I’ve never played one with fifth edition. It used to be easy enough to just jump in a game of third with a character you had pre-made, ready and waiting – of exactly the right level – to just game hardcore. Fifth has me a bit confused some times, but generally speaking it seems to be pretty easy to make characters and build to a standard that the DM is enforcing. Last night, I was invited to a local game of Dungeons and Dragons by a guy I recently met at my Friendly Local Game Store. He’s a DM for a few games here in the Inland Empire, but he mentioned that he played in a Wednesday game and that they were missing people – he wanted to know if I’d like to come – like to? Please. I’m all over that shit.

Classic Traveler - Character Build Check List

I just got done putting together a one page checklist for Character Building in Classic Traveller. It is really just a bunch of boxes where you can write down whether you passed a certain check, or what benefit you got when. Thought it might be useful for all of us who picked up the free Traveller bundle and have been having fun with character building. I will put it up on Megauploads a little bit later and than throw the link into this post. I hope people can use it. It only goes up to Tour 6, but if you get past your 6th tour, you are a lucky SOB (under those unlikely circumstances, just use a second page!).

Zoom. Why o Why have you gone away...

Yes, this is another post about the new character builder by WotC. I got home from work, cleaned the house, put on some SModcast and sat down to check out the new character builder... then horror. I CAN'T FIGURE OUT HOW TO ZOOM!! I do all of my work on a Netbook. I am living in a foreign country and it really makes life easier. But, one of the drawbacks, very small screen. The old character builder let me zoom in and out. A very nice thing to have. I could make the screen smaller, to fit more of it on the screen, but still make things readable. This one. I don't have any idea how to change the size of things. This has essentially made the character builder totally unusable to me until I get myself an external monitor... so. Very sad day for Shinobicow

New Character Builder Update

Well, this month, the update to the D&Di character builder went live. I'm downloading it as i type this. I'll be rolling up several new heroes as soon as i get it running. I'm really interested in putting together some hybrid characters, a monk, and using those new races from the MM2. Can't wait to get started.

Anybody else plan on rolling up some new PC's with the update?
