The Best Laid Plans Part 1

In Which Our Hero Just Can't Get Enough

“The Best Laid Plans of Mice and Men Often Go Astray.” Story of my life.

Gather round children as I tell a tale of frightening woe. It’s a tale of ugliness and shocking revelations. It’s the grand story of plans that went horribly, horribly wrong. In short, I’m going to describe to you how all of my grand life schemes went sour and I disappeared from the internet for the last 5 years.

Amethyst Evolution - Out Now! PDF on RPGNow in Radiohead Fashion!!

How did I miss this?!  Well, real life sometimes gets in the way of the hobby and the blog.  But, now that I have caught it, it needs to be said here.  Amethyst Evolution, the second book in the Amethyst universe, has now come out!!

You may have caught a little bit of my preview article for Amethyst Evolution a little bit ago.  You will recall I was really, really excited to see that there were going to be some awesome new organizations coming around as well as some new Techan classes and a few new races.  Things are just getting better and better.  Dias Ex Machina is going to be striking again with this awesome book.

As for a little blurb of what you'll find in this book, here's a snippet from the Dias Ex Machina site which explains what you'll find in Amethyst Evolution:

Lifepaths: New lifepaths are being introduced including options for divine and evil characters.
Races: Kodiak, pagus, and tenenbri are introduced as playable races. In addition, all the old races of Foundations are reprinted and revised to match up with the developing 4 th Edition philosophy.
Classes: Get up close and personal with a new techan class, the vanguard. Older techan classes are expanded and revised with alternate class features and powers. Also included are revised Foundations classes presented with simplified abilities and fixed level features instead of encounter and/or daily powers. These classes may replace original Foundations classes in your current game if it permits these alternative classes. These do not replace the classes from Foundations ; both versions are compatible with each other and players can elect either option in a game without upsetting game balance.
Paragon Paths: New paths are available for new races as well as options for classic races and classes.
Feats: Dozens of new feats are offered, including martial arts and explosive feats.
Epic Destinies: New epic paths are now available for both echan and techan characters.
Equipment: Nuclear weapons (yes nuclear weapons) are available. Look for larger power armor and aircraft. Players can now (clumsily) wield super heavy weapons.

Sounds pretty awesome right?!  Nuclear Weapons!!!  Awesome.  That sounds sufficiently EPIC to me.  You can get the book off of RPGNow right now! and guess what?!  In very Radiohead Fashion, the publishers have decided to let you choose how much you want to pay for the book!!!!  There are two price points available for Amethyst Evolution; you can pick it up for $14.99 or $9.99 whichever you feel is the fair price to pay.  They would love to have the support I am sure, so consider popping for the extra $5 when you buy the book.  Also, the print edition of the book will be available soon.  I love my hardcover print copy.  You might want to also consider their PDF/Print bundle which is also available now.  This pack ensures that you'll be getting the print version when it comes out.  Very cool.

Join the (RPGB)Alliance Today - Help fight the Empire!

If you've been living under a rock, or have been away on vacation, you might not have heard about the RPG Bloggers Alliance.  Founded by some of the guys behind The RPG Circus Podcast, with the help of THE Stargazer himself, the RPGBA aims to be a new community for us all to call our home.  The site features the aggregated feed for all the members on the network (something you got with the RPGBN), but also has a dedicated forum, which has been up and running for quite a while, serving as the forums for the RPG Circus and other sites (including mine :P ).   The site also features a wiki, which is still in development, but which will most likely be up and running in no time at all considering how much support has already been shown for the site in just a week or so.  At the time I'm writing this, there are already 100 members; I'm positive that number will increase very, very soon.  Join the RPGBA and enjoy.  In honor of the RPGBA, I thought I would post some Alliance Recruitment posters from around the web.

XDMC 28 - Muster a Constabulary

Do you know what a constabulary is?? If you do, you're going to like this month's Expert Dungeon Master Competition hosted over on the Wizards of the Coast forums.  This month's topic is:

MUSTER A CONSTABULARY!

Here's the starter post that kicks off the competition this month.

The topic for this competition is Constabulary. Player characters often work outside the law, but are also generally trying to uphold the law. This can place them into a strained, yet dramatic and often entertaining, relationship with the local government. You must design a constabulary that is charged with enforcing the law in a population center who will interact with the player characters in entertaining and memorable fashions.
Required Elements
In order to enter this competition, your entry must fulfill the following required elements:
Name: Name your entry.
Constablewick: Describe the area in which the constablulary has jurisdiction.
Leadership: Describe the individuals in charge of the constabulary. You may, but need not, include stat blocks for these individuals.
Roster: Describe the composition and organization of the constabulary. You may, but need not, include stat blocks for these individuals.
Friend and Foe: Describe at least one encounter in which the constabulary might support the player characters and at least one encounter in which the constabulary may oppose the player characters.
Optional Elements
Your story must include at least three of the following optional elements:
Bigoted: The constabulary either favors or disfavors one specific faith, race or culture.
Disreputable: The constabulary has a poor reputation in the constablewick, whether deserved or undeserved.
Elite: The constabulary acts only when the constablewick needs its specialized expertise.
Inhuman: No member of the constabulary is humanoid.
Insubordinate: The constabulary directly or indirectly supports an agenda opposed by the entity it ostensibly serves.
Military: The constabulary also serves as the constablewick's military.
Nongovernmental: The constabulary does not work for the government, but rather (i) for coin, (ii) for a guild, (iii) for a church, and/or (iv) as a vigilante organization.
Police State: The constabulary controls the entity it ostensibly serves.
Rural: At least one of the encounters does not occur in an urban setting.
Secret Police: The entity the constabulary ostensibly serves does not officially sanction or recognize it.
Voluntary: Those members of the constabulary who are not in leadership positions receive no remuneration for their participation.
List the optional elements you intend to include. If you do not, the judges will credit you only for the optional elements they happen to notice.

You can read the rest of the rules, etc. in the forum thread itself.  The deadline for this one is midnight on the 10th of June.  That's coming up pretty quick!

Sounds pretty fun right?  I am excited for this one and will probably put together an entry.  A couple people, myself included, have already talked about rolling up some of the more famous Constabularies out there... Batman, The Doctor, etc.  Give it a try and see how you do.  This competition always proves to be a great place to hone your writing skills.  It's worth the effort.

One Page Dungeon Contest 2011 Ends. Winners Announced!

As much as I would have liked to be among the chosen few, considering it was my first attempt, I didn't really think it would happen.  This is my way of leading into the fact that the 2011 One Page Dungeon Contest Results Have been posted.  I was unfortunately not chosen to be among the top few.  However, among the winners, Dyson Logos (a friend of the blog) picked up the Best Old-School Dungeon Award! Congrats.

If you want to check out the full list of all the winners, or download the complete list for yourself, head over to the One Page Dungeon Contest website and give all the entries a look.  Might want to just give mine a look see while you are there as well.  ;)

According to the Old School RPG Blogger Advancement Table....

I saw over at Hero Press that they recently made it to the status of Pundit.  Congrats! The Dump Stat hasn't been covering OSR stuff for very long, but we're loving it now.  I examined the table he mentioned and it would seem that we are...

If you got that, we could probably be friends.  Not sure if I can make a good pro-wrestling joke for Pundit, but when I get there, I'll do my best ;)

Also, we've climbed up to position 86 on the list of Old School RPG Blogs.  You'll continue to see lots more Old School Content coming.  I'm thinking very hard about picking up the LotFP: Grindhouse Edition, which has just become available for pre-order.  It looks very promising.  The art alone is pretty amazing.  I'm guessing the pre-orders are going to be gone before I have a chance to get out my credit card though :O

XDMC 26: Create a Racial Feature

I have been a little slow in putting this up, since there has been so much going on here in Japan, but XDMC 26 is now well under way.  It ends this Friday, April 1st, so if you're thinking about putting an entry together for this round of the competition, you best get on that!!  This month's competition is - Create a Racial Feature!!

The topic for this competition is Racial Features. Sometimes a player will approach the DM with a race-based character concept that is consistent with the description of the race, but doesn't have sufficient mechanical support. In times like that, an expert DM can fill in the gaps. You are challenged to create a group of backgrounds, feats, powers, or other mechanics that share a common racial prerequisite and a theme of your choosing.
Required Elements
In order to enter this competition, your entry must fulfill the following required elements:
Name: Name your entry.
Race: Identify the race to which the entry pertains. The race must be currently supported for player characters.
Mechanics: Describe three or more features (such as feats, powers, or backgrounds) for that race.
Theme: Describe the common theme that all of the features share.
If you do not meet each of these required elements, you will receive a score of zero in Themes.
Optional Elements
You must meet at least three of the following optional elements:
Ability: At least one feature uses an Ability score, Ability modifier, and/or a Skill in which the race otherwise receives no benefit or bonus.
Distancing: At least one feature penalizes adjacent allies.
Geographic: All the features relate to a specific geographical or planar location.
Keyword: At least one feature grants a benefit with respect to one or more keywords and a penalty with respect to at least the same number of different keywords.
Language: At least one feature is available to characters of any race who speak a language named after the race identified in the required element called "Race".
Multiracial: At least one feature causes the character to be treated mechanically as a different race in addition to their original race.
Organization: All the features require membership in an organization described in the entry.
Ritual: At least one feature allows the character to cast one or more rituals without the Ritual Caster feat.
Solidarity: At least one feature grants a benefit to allies of the same race.
Swap: At least one feature replaces an existing racial feature.
Transformative: At least one feature changes the character's origin and/or size.
Unrecognizable: At least one feature renders the character's race unrecognizable to, at a minimum, others of its race.
List the optional elements you intend to include. If you do not, the judges will credit you only for the optional elements they happen to notice.
General Rules
Following are some general rules of the Expert DM Competition. The complete list of rules is in the Expert Dungeon Master Competition Group Wiki.
Code of Conduct. All entries must comply with the forum's Code of Conduct.
Contest Duration. Contests usually run for two weeks, beginning with the post announcing the competition. The Coordinator may extend the duration of the contest at his discretion after consulting the other judges for that competition. However, such extensions should be done very rarely.
Edits Made at Entrants' Own Risk. A judge may download your entry any time after it is submitted. So any edits you make might not be considered by a judge. For this reason, you should submit your entry in as complete a form as possible. Use the preview function liberally. Once winners have been announced, entrants may edit their entries.
Images Allowed. If you want to use an image in your entry, you must first post it to your profile gallery.
Multiple Entries Prohibited. Each applicant may only submit one entry during the period in which entries may be submitted. Submitting multiple entries disqualifies all entries. Additional entries may be submitted after the competition closes, but they will not be judged.
Multi-Post Entries Prohibited. Each entry must be contained within a single post. The judges must ignore any subsequent posts.
Outside Links Prohibited. Entries may not include material hosted on a website other than the post on which the entry appears.
Plagiarism and Peer Reviewing Prohibited. All entries must be the original, exclusive work of the applicant. Entries found to be copying the work of another, or that have been posted for review prior to the close of the competition, will be disqualified.
Judges And Schedule
The contest will run from today through Friday, April 1, 2011. All entries must be submitted no later than 12:00 midnight at the end of that day (Eastern Standard Time). The judges of this contest are ChimericPhase, Johnathan_Vagabond, and Pluisjen, and the coordinator of this contest is wrecan. Good luck and have fun!!

Sounds like a lot of fun right? I know, I thought so too.  There aren't any prizes for winning, but people will give you feedback and comments regarding your entry and you get a bunch of forum cred, though I guess they stopped giving out the forum titles a while ago.  Get over to the Wizard's forum and give this one a try!

Warhammer 40,000 Retrospective - 40K Radio Review

I've been very much a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 Universe since I was in Middle School.  My experience with miniatures gaming predates my RPG experience by several years, but I haven't played much since High School.  However, recently, I've been listening to the 40K Radio Podcast and my 40 K memories have come flooding back yet again.

40K Radio is a pretty good podcast in my podcast listening opinion.  I listen to a lot of podcasts (I'm going to start doing some podcast reviews pretty soon) and this is the first 40 K related podcast that I've listened to.  The guys that do the podcast are entertaining and they get into the gritty strategic details of the game in most of their shows.  They also bring in some great interviews with folks like Dan Abnett and Graham McNiell, some of the biggest names that come out of the Black Library.

The show can run really, really long sometimes, but honestly, I don't find that to be a bad thing.  Some folks dislike longer podcasts, but I love them.  As long as what's going on in the podcast is not BS random off topic nonsense, than I'm a very happy puppy.  Some of the 40K Radio Podcasts can be almost 3 hours long, but they don't stray off topic very much - instead they provide very in depth analysis of the 40K Game and Hobby and also manage to talk about the 40K RPG's once in a while (One of their recent podcasts features one of the 40K RPG Producers from Fantasy Flight Games).

If you're not really into 40K then you obviously won't find much in this podcast for you.  The show is fairly specific to the 40K game, especially the miniatures version, so if that isn't really your thing, you might not find much there for you.  However, if you are a current player, or even a former player looking to get back into the hobby and are looking for some news and discussion of the current edition of the game, you can be pretty sure to find a good start with 40K Radio.

Listening to them talk about 40K and some of the new armies that are coming out has gotten me into a very "Warhammer" type of mood, so I thought I'd take some time this week to talk about how I got started in miniatures gaming and how that entrance eventually led me to 40K and now into the 40K Universe RPG's.  I hope you enjoy it.

OO! I'm on a Podcast !! - Gamer Traveler Podcast

A while back, Daniel Perez ( @Highmoon ), got in touch with me on Twitter.  He's a friend of a friend of mine from Stargazer's World and let me know that his significant other was doing her best at learning Japanese and he was interested in getting some tips from someone living in Japan and who had already studied the language (though I am pretty much the last person who should be giving lessons).  After that initial discussion, we talked pretty frequently over twitter and recently, he was nice enough to ask me to come onto his podcast, the Gamer Traveler, to talk to me about being a Gamer in Japan.

The discussion about making the podcast appearance happened a few weeks before the quake hit, but it wasn't until a week or so ago, that we were able to make the podcast happen.  Now, the much anticipated podcast is available for your listening pleasure.  You can hear me talk a bit (actually a lot) about the Japan quake, my experience growing up in a Japanese Museum (one of the reasons why I came to study, work, and make a family here), and my experience so far as a Gamer living in Japan.  Daniel's an awesome guy and he has a great podcast so I hope you all enjoy it.  Please listen to World Gamers: Greg Schuster in Japan!

Nevermet's Call for Submission - Stories in the Ether

If you hadn't heard, Nevermet Press is now accepting submissions for their fantasy anthology which will showcase Short and Flash Fiction:

This new anthology will represent a compelling collection of short stories and flash fiction that were first published online in the fantasy, science fiction, and steampunk genres. Stories In The Ether will be published individually through Nevermet Press as a blog series, and later as a collected print, PDF, ePub and audio anthology for fans to enjoy offline or through other means.
Now Accepting Submissions
Starting today we are accepting submissions of short stories (i.e. stories that can be read in one sitting, about 25,000 words or less) and flash fiction (i.e. stories that can be read over a cup of coffee, about 3,000 words or less) for inclusion into the Stories in the Ether blog series and anthology. The published anthology, titled “Stories In The Ether: Volume 1“, will be published in early 2012.

This is a very compelling project and I may already be working on a submission of my own.  Maybe.  Not saying either way.  If you are interested, I encourage you to give them a visit and maybe try your hand at a Submission.   I have added a little banner over to the right in the sidebar where you can find a direct link to their submissions page and the announcement.

Guest Post about The RPG Blogger Community @ Tossing it Out

I was recently contacted by Arlee, the writer of the Blog Tossing It Out, the host for the A to Z Blogging Challenge.  He let me know that there were a lot of folks from the RPG Blogger Community which have been showing up for the challenge this year, I being among them.  He let me know that there was a spot open on his blog and was wondering if I would put together a little blog post about my experiences in gaming, but also, about the RPG Blogger community and our world.  I jumped at the chance and was happy to do it.  So, today, If you go over and check out Arlee's blog, Tossing it Out, you will find my Guest Post: Intro to the RPG Blogger Community.  I hope I did a good job representing as much of our community as possible.  I tried to keep it universal.  If you have something you'd like to add, I urge you to comment on the post and throw in your 2 cents.   Thanks everyone who provided me with some ideas for the post and helped me put it together.  Hopefully, this might bring some new readers and a new audience to our community of gamers.

Ronin -Japan Relief Edition from Highmoon Games at RPG Now

Most of you should know now had bad thing are here in Japan.  We got hit by a massive earthquake, tsunami, and are still in a state of chaos around the country.  I happen to be in one of the safest areas in Japan and have not been directly impacted by the Earthquake for the most part.  I'm fine and my family is fine, but a lot of people here are suffering.  I know that this comes right on the tails of the New Zealand Earthquake disaster, but any aid you can manage is appreciated.  To that effect, the RPG community is organizing again...

Highmoon games was nice enough to put together a relief pack which contains Ronin; Oriental Adventures, the RPG set in Tokogawa era Japan.  It uses the 3.5 Edition rules of the world's most popular roleplaying game.  It also contains a full playtest of Ronin for Pathfinder and is Pathfinder compatible.  You'll also get a 30% off coupon for Geeky Clean with the pack.  I urge you to go over and donate to this cause.  Highmoon games was nice enough to send me one of these.  Thank you very much.  I definitely don't need aid myself, but having Japanese RPG's to read right now is definitely taking my mind off of all the chaos.  I'll put together a longer post retelling a lot of what happened later, but for now, please help the cause.  Japan needs you.

One Page Dungeon Contest 2011 Begins, Ends April 1st

Well, If you weren't aware, the One Page Dungeon Contest 2011 has begun.  The Contest starts now and will go until April 1st.  If you haven't seen any of the entries for the last couple of years, you're missing out.  I almost tried to put together one for the contest in 2009, but getting married kind of rained on my One Page Dungeon parade.  Then, in 2010, having my son squashed any chance of trying for that one too.  But, this time around, I will not be defeated.  I am determined to give this one a try. These One Page Dungeons fill the role of something I've been looking for in RPG's for a long time - the cool random places that you find in an open world.  I could totally see myself filling a sandbox world with many of these locations.  Would you do the same?  Have you run one of the past dungeons?  What was your experience?  How did you do it??

If you actually need to be incentivized by prizes rather than by just the joy of entering and having fun in a contest like this, you might want to take a look at the loot list.  It's pretty crazy long.

A New Author Approaches - Obidancer Joins the Dump Stat

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you all know that we have a new author here on The Dump Stat.  Obidancer, a player in my current Shadowrun Play by Post game, has graciously accepted an invitation I sent him to join the site as an author and artist.  We can all expect some interesting stuff coming from him in the future.  If you hadn't noticed, I have been posting his artwork up here on the blog over the last few weeks; I'm a pretty big fan, so I'm really glad to be bringing him on board.

In addition to being a fantastic Digital Artist, Obidancer is also a big fan of the Star Wars RPG, something which I have actually never even touched. So, hopefully, we'll be hearing some interesting tales of the Star Wars RPG in the future too!  Hope everyone enjoys his artwork and RPG commentary.

My Nav Bars are finally Working Properly!

This is how I feel right now... thank you trial and error methods of coding.

So, I decided today that without any help, I was going to figure out why in the world my blog's nav bars were displaying just fine in Internet Explorer (random older Japanese version) but not in the new IE or in Firefox.  I cracked down on my blogger template code and tried to figure out exactly what it is I did wrong in my copy/paste style of coding that I did with this whole thing.  I finally figured out exactly what the problem was and now I have updated the code so that the nav bars work a whole lot better.  I hope that looks a lot prettier for everyone!  I'm proud of myself!!

RPG Blog Carnival March Part 1 - Life and Death in RPG @ Campaign Mastery

Well, if you hadn't heard yet, the RPG Blog Carnival for March 2011 has been kicked off by Campaign Mastery.  The topic for this month is Life and Death in RPG.  I find that to be a very interesting topic right now.  Don't you?

Why, might you ask, do I think that?  Well, I think that a lot of people are currently forecasting the DEATH of 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons, followed quickly by a resurrection of the D&D Brand with 5e.  I have not been one to chime in on any of these rumors up until this point (at least on my blog I haven't).  But, today, I guess I'm going to do just that...

Just Kidding.

I won't be posting anything on my blog about 4e/5e or whatever, so hold your flaming for someplace else.  This month, I will try to run with the carnival again though and in fact, I'm going to even be a bit more formal about how I do this and post a column each week dedicated to the topic.  Sound good?  I think this column will come out on your Wednesday (my Thursday...time changes can really be a pain sometimes).  Stay tuned.

But, today is not just an announcement post, it's an actual meat post.  I wanted to talk about a few of my personal character deaths which I have found amusing over the years.  You might find them amusing as well.

Some of you might know, since I've talked about it here on the blog before, that the way I got my start in D&D was during high school, but the first games I ever really played were a series of con games called the "D&D 3.0 Player Vs. Player" and "D&D 3.0 Team Player Vs. Player".  These two events were pretty much all about power gaming, but they were sooo much fun.  The events were hosted at Strategicon, out in California, 3 times a year.  I think I played in maybe 3-4 of them, but I can't quite remember the exact numbers.  They were truly lessons in gaming.

My first, most memorable character death happened in the Team PvP event.  I had brought along, what I thought, was a pretty powerful archmage (this game is made for characters around level 17-19).  The character had some seriously awesome spells, but the one thing I just didn't understand was the rules.  This was not a group that was particularly forgiving.  It was pretty much Tournament style D&D set in an absolutely killer labyrinth in which 10 other teams of nearly epic level characters were also trying to get through and kill you along the way.  This game was not designed for a beginner, and me, not knowing the rules very well, did not add up to be a very good combination.  In the first room, I decided to Wail of the Banshee on a pair of massive scorpions which were standing in front of me.  I did not, however, take into the account that they had reach, and, would be able to hit me once I cast on them (wasn't casting defensively so they get their attack of opportunity attack).  My archmage takes about 120+ damage from 2 hits and goes down like a ton of bricks.  I was out of the game on the first round in the dungeon... sad day.

One of my other legendary deaths happened in the same game.  This time, the Team PvP was set on a massive 3D tabletop with all kinds of awesome terrain.  Movement was actually measured out with a tape measure, in a rare new style of D&D play.  I thought that was pretty cool.  This game, I showed up with a fighter who was wielding himself a vorpal falchion.  I had done the whole improved crit+keen mumbo jumbo to give him a 12-20 crit range with it.  I got into combat, chopped off the head of a baylor, and was very proud of myself.  That event was made with decent amounts of praise around the table.  The next round, my fighter fell trying to jump over what I thought was a standard river... it wasn't.  The river was filled with swarming, flesh-eating insects.  He got pretty much eaten alive.  I think he was almost dead on r.1 of being in the river and on r.2 when he failed to get out, he was gone.  Goodbye my lovely fighter.  At least you got to take out that Baylor before you went bye-bye.

It's funny really.  I remember these deaths the most because I was so new to the game when they happened.  Also, I have never had a character of mine die in a long running campaign.  I have had some fall, but they always get right back up.  I play the DM so much, that I always remember the memorable experiences I have as a player.

So my question today is:  What are the character deaths we remember the most?  What is the key to having a character's death be retold as players.  For me, it has always been the deaths of characters when I was new to gaming.  What about you?  Are the characters that die right after doing something awesome remembered the most? or do you remember the characters which you were attached to for a long time, but then perished in some odd, or anti-climactic way.  Fill me in.

SModcast Report - Crimson Mystical Mages 2 coming in April

As everyone knows, I'm a huge fan of SModcast, and all the other podcasts on the SModcast Podcast Network.  Well, I was a bit behind on listening to this weeks episode of SModcast because I was too busy listening to some other ones, including Giant Fire Breathing Robot, The Tome Show, and some of the other SModcast network stuff (finall all caught up after being a year behind the times...).

The biggest news of this week's SModcast was the report that SModcast, with Stitcher, will now be getting their own internet radio station.  Starting some time very, very soon, SModcast is going to be playing 24/7.  How awesome is that?  I am very, very on board with this.  I have trouble getting enough SModcast and I'm going to be way into this in a big way (I hope that some of their daily live stuff is going to be repeated/saved so that people can listen to it later).

Other than that huge announcement, they did tease the newest episode of Crimson Mystical Mages; that show is pretty much the only excuse I have to really talk about these podcasts here on my blog.  I have talked about Crimson Mystical Mages some times in the past, but if you aren't familiar, Crimson Mystical Mages is the Kevin Smith crews version of Dungeons & Dragons.  They play their game on stage in front of a live audience.  It is D&D combined with adult jokes and comedy.  It's a bit mocking of the whole hobby, but considering that one of their own has been a D&D player for several years now (I'm looking at you Jason Mewes), it all comes off as in pretty good fun.

The next episode of the show looks like it will be coming out in April.  They will be podcasting this one live from the John Lovitz comedy club; that means a significant increase in the size of the venue and it also means that the entire audience will probably be drunk half way through the show (or when the show starts... you never can tell).  Apparently, this upcoming episode is going to have the story written largely by Scott Mosier, but the one to follow may actually be written by the only D&D player in the group.  Either way, I know I'm really looking forward to this and I really, really wish that I could actually fly from Japan out to listen to this live, but that's not about to happen, so I'm stuck here and I'll be listening to it on my iTunes as soon as it hits the iTunes store.

Keep 'em coming!  Can't wait for S.I.R. - a montly Crimson Mystical Mages would be, in Kevin Smith's own words, a massive cauldron of win.

Do the Nav Bars Display for you?

This is question going out to all my readers.  I am having some problems with the navigation bars on my website.  Do they display properly for you?  If they are displaying correctly, under Roleplaying, there should be a drop down menu which shows all of the different RPG's which I talk about on my site.  There should also be another drop down menu for CCGs, Miniatures Games, Video Games, and Other Games.

If they are not displaying properly for you, please leave a comment telling me which browser you are running this site on and what version.  Right now I am mainly having trouble viewing this on my home computer, which may mean that it is a problem on my end.  Thanks in advance.

-Greg
